Girls Inc. of Worcester is seeking a dynamic and empathetic Dance/Movement Therapy Contractor to lead empowering, trauma-informed dance/movement sessions for youth participants throughout the academic year. This role supports our mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold by providing a creative, body-based outlet for emotional expression, self-regulation, and confidence-building.
This is a stipend-based, independent contractor role totaling 100 hours of service during the school year. The contractor will deliver group-based dance/movement sessions, occasional one-on-one support, and contribute to program-wide wellness initiatives.
Scope of Work
- Design and facilitate dance/movement therapy sessions that are developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive for girls ages 5–18.
- Integrate trauma-informed practices that promote body awareness, self-expression, and emotional healing through movement.
- Collaborate with program staff to schedule sessions and tailor movement activities to support social-emotional learning.
- Maintain basic documentation and session notes to support internal program evaluation.
- Prepare session materials, music, and movement props as needed.
- Participate in wellness-focused or family engagement events as requested.
Other Responsibilities
- Communicating with and addressing behavior concerns with supervisors and filling out appropriate documentation
- Ensure accurate attendance data entry for your club/classroom

Term: 100 total hours between September and June, flexible scheduling to be coordinated in advance.
During After-school Programming Monday–Friday: 2:30 pm-6:00 pm
Location: On-site at Girls Inc. of Worcester; no remote sessions permitted at this time.
- Master’s degree or advanced training in Dance/Movement Therapy or related expressive arts therapy field.
- Registered or provisionally registered dance/movement therapist (R-DMT or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in group or school-based settings.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed, inclusive, and anti-oppressive practices in youth development.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check with fingerprinting (cost covered by contractor).
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and move materials or props as needed.
Compensation: Fixed stipend; contractor will be issued a 1099 form at year-end. Please include your going rate in application email.
