Girls Inc is a great place to be, whether you are a girl, a parent, a staff member or a volunteer - we are growing and adding new programs to meet the many needs of all the girls in our community. We provide fun, creative and safe environments for girls to grow at Winthrop House and Camp Kinneywood - and we take our programs into the schools and community settings whenever we can. Our program staff is reaching out to women and men across the community to come in and share their stories, time and experiences with our girls. We have recently hosted women firefighters, restaurant owners, authors - and the list keeps growing!
This spring, based on the feedback from our girls' parents, we are offering a series of Parenting Girls Programs - the information will be out soon, so please keep an eye out for it.
Take Our Daughters to Work Day is on April 23rd. In partnership with Girl Scouts and Big Brothers and Big Sisters, we are looking for girls aged 10-14 who would like to experience a day in the work world, and for women mentors who would like to have the opportunity to give hope and inspiration to a girl for a day - and maybe beyond!
It's time to register for summer programs as well. We are still finalizing the Camp Kinneywood and Winthrop House programming, but we do know that we will have a Legos-based robotics program, an Ultimate Frisbee team competition, new conditioning programs for sports, field trips around Worcester and a new Teen Leadership program.
