Career Pathways Case Manager

The Career Pathways Case Manager supports the implementation, coordination, and administration of career readiness and workforce development programming for teens and young adults at Girls Inc. of Worcester. This role has an expanded focus on career pathways, including workforce exposure, post-secondary readiness, and long-term participant outcomes.

Working closely with the Associate Director of Career Pathways, the Case Manager is responsible for program logistics, case management, and communication with participants, families, schools, and partners. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, youth-centered, and passionate about supporting teens and young adults in achieving their educational and career goals.

Responsibilities: 

Program Coordination & Youth Support

  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for teen participants.
  • Coordinate and facilitate teen programming focused on leadership development, identity exploration, life skills, wellness, career readiness, and community engagement.
  • Provide case management support for teen participants, including goal-setting, progress tracking, referrals, and follow-up.
  • Conduct participant intakes and maintain accurate documentation aligned with organizational and funder requirements.
  • Support daily program operations including activity preparation, youth check-in/out, transitions, and behavior guidance.
  • Plan and support local field trips, workshops, and special teen events.

Career Pathways & Referrals

  • Collaborate closely with the Associate Director of Career Pathways to coordinate referrals to internal and external programs, resources, and opportunities.
  • Support promotion and recruitment for teen programs, workshops, and pathway opportunities.
  • Track referrals and participation to support evaluation and continuous improvement.

Community & Partner Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and service providers to expand opportunities for teens.
  • Attend offsite meetings with community partners as needed.
  • Represent Girls Inc. of Worcester at outreach, tabling, and recruitment events.
  • Support family engagement by communicating with parents/caregivers promptly and professionally.

Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate attendance tracking and timely data entry.
  • Document behavior concerns, case notes, and incidents in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Communicate concerns and updates to supervisors in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Support light housekeeping and program space upkeep as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk up to one mile daily for participant pickup or transitions.
  • Safely lift and carry up to 25 lbs. for program setup, supplies, and event materials.

Other Responsibilities

  • Communicating with and addressing behavior concerns with your supervisors and filling out appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate transportation logistics, including buses and field trip planning.
  • Support scheduling, vendor coordination, and event logistics for career-related programming.
  • Prepare materials and ensure readiness for workshops, events, and partner engagements.
Work Schedule: 

During Worcester Public School Academic Year: Tuesday- Friday 10am-7:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch & Saturdays 9am-1pm. (no lunch)

During Worcester Public Schools Summer Break: Monday-Friday 10:00am-7:00 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Qualifications: 
  • At least 21 years old with a high school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, education, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with youth in group or supportive service settings; experience with teens (ages 11–17) strongly preferred.
  • Experience or interest in case management, youth advocacy, or referral coordination.
  • Strong facilitation, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to youth development, equity, trauma-informed practice, and social justice.
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting (fingerprinting cost paid by applicant).
  • Ability to travel locally to partner sites and events.

Salary and Application Information: 

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt. Eligible for overtime in accordance with Massachusetts wage and hour laws.
Pay Range: $18-$23/Hour (based on experience)
