Teen Program Educator – She Leads

Girls Inc. of Worcester is seeking a Teen Educator to facilitate engaging, teen-centered programming alongside our Teen Programs Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who loves working directly with teens, bringing curriculum to life, and creating an inclusive, empowering learning environment. The Teen Educator focuses primarily on program facilitation and youth engagement, supporting teens as they build confidence, skills, and connections.

Responsibilities: 

Program Facilitation & Youth Engagement

  • Facilitate developmentally appropriate, engaging programming for teens ages 11–17.
  • Deliver curriculum focused on leadership, identity, life skills, wellness, career exploration, and community engagement.
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where teens feel seen, heard, and respected.
  • Support youth participation, group discussions, activities, and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Teen Programs Coordinator to adapt programming based on teen interests and needs.
  • Support positive behavior guidance using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.

Program Support

  • Assist with activity preparation, setup, and cleanup.
  • Support youth check-in/out, transitions, and attendance tracking as directed.
  • Communicate any participant concerns, successes, or behavior issues promptly to the Teen Programs Coordinator.
  • Support special activities, workshops, and occasional field trips as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk up to one mile daily for participant transitions or activities.
  • Safely lift and carry up to 25 lbs for program materials and setup.

Other Responsibilities

  • Communicating with and addressing behavior concerns with your supervisors and filling out appropriate documentation.
  • Communicating with any parent/guardian concerns and questions promptly and appropriately.
  • Ensure accurate attendance data entry for your program and any grant requirements
Work Schedule: 

This part-time position requires a 7.5 hour workweek, with flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend programming. Work Schedule:

Tuesday & Thursday: 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Friday: 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Saturday: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

This is a 10-month role only active during academic school year

Qualifications: 
  • At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or currently pursuing one.
  • Minimum 6–9 months of experience working with youth in group settings; experience with teens strongly preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and youth engagement skills.
  • Passion for youth development, equity, and social justice.
  • Ability to follow curriculum while bringing creativity and authenticity to facilitation.
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting (fingerprinting cost paid by applicant).

Salary and Application Information: 

Pay Rate: $18.50-$21/Hour dependent on experience
