Clinical Wellness and Equity Internship

Position Summary
The Clinical Intern is a master’s-level graduate student who provides direct, supervised clinical and social-emotional supports to girls and gender-expansive youth in after-school and summer programming. This role is ideal for students pursuing licensure in mental health counseling, social work, or a related clinical field. The intern will deliver group-based interventions, provide individual support, collaborate with families and staff, and contribute to a trauma-informed, culturally responsive care model.

Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in planning and executing wellness & equity family engagement events
  • Facilitate small-group and classroom-based social-emotional learning (SEL) and wellness sessions
  • Provide supervised individual check-ins and short-term clinical support for participants
  • Conduct informal assessments, observations, and progress notes under supervision
  • Support crisis response and de-escalation using trauma-informed practices
  • Collaborate with Case Management Interns to coordinate participant support plans
  • Participate in weekly individual and/or group clinical supervision
  • Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, and mandated reporting responsibilities
  • Assist with program evaluation, documentation, and reporting as needed
Work Schedule: 

In-Person: Available after school (1:30–5:30 PM), up to 20 hours/week (flexible)

Qualifications: 
  • Enrolled in a master’s program in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Eligible and seeking clinical supervision hours (preferred)
  • Experience working with children or adolescents (K–12), preferably in community or school-based settings
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and equity-centered practices. Able to demonstrate cultural humility and work with diverse communities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • At least 1 year of experience working with K-12 youth
