Position Summary
The Dance & Movement Wellness Intern uses movement-based practices to support physical regulation, emotional expression, and self-confidence among girls and gender-expansive youth. This role integrates creative movement, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed facilitation into GIW programming.
- Plan and facilitate movement-based wellness sessions for youth ages 5–18
- Incorporate trauma-informed, inclusive, and body-positive practices
- Support emotional regulation and stress relief through movement activities
- Collaborate with Clinical and Case Management Interns as needed
- Adapt activities for different age groups and abilities
- Assist with special events, showcases, or wellness programming
Ability to work after school hours (approximately 1:30–5:30 PM), up to 20 hours/week (flexible)
- Enrolled in or recently completed a program in dance, movement therapy, kinesiology, education, or related field
- Experience working with children or youth
- Comfort leading groups and facilitating movement activities
- Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive practices
