Girls Inc. of Worcester is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Intern to support our communications, outreach, and events. This intern will play a vital role in helping us tell our story, expand our digital presence, and promote the mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. You’ll assist with social media, content creation, design projects, and event marketing—gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit communications and brand development.
Social Media & Content Creation
- Assist in drafting, editing, and scheduling engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
- Help develop campaigns that highlight programs, impact stories, staff spotlights, and upcoming events.
- Monitor social media for trends, engagement, and opportunities to amplify our message.
Marketing & Outreach Support
- Support the creation of flyers, newsletters, email blasts, and promotional materials using Canva or similar tools.
- Assist in photographing programs and events for use in marketing and reports.
- Help maintain and update website content and event calendars.
Event & Campaign Support
- Assist in promoting Girls Inc. events and campaigns through digital and print marketing.
- Support day-of logistics at select events, including tabling, photography, and attendee engagement.
Administrative & Project Support
- Help organize media assets, maintain social media metrics, and track campaign performance.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to marketing and outreach plans.
Projects:
- FY26/FY27 Marketing Calendar research & social media content suggestions
- Analyze other Girls Inc. social media accounts and compare to ours
- How do we stack up and compare to them, analyze our competitors
- What do they do well, what could aspire to do
- What do we do well
- Help increase our alumnae network
- Increase enrollment for fall, summer, and enrichment programming
Flexible work hours to accommodate academic schedules. The normal Girls Inc. of Worcester workday is between 9 am-6 pm.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Experience with Canva, Google Workspace, and social media platforms preferred.
- Passion for youth development, social justice, and empowering girls.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to pass a background check with fingerprinting (cost covered by applicant if required).
This is a non-paid internship. We accept interns for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
