The Career Pathways Coordinator supports the implementation, coordination, and administration of career readiness and workforce development programming for teens and young adults at Girls Inc. of Worcester. Working closely with the Associate Director of Career Pathways and Career Pathways Case Manager, this position serves as a primary operational point of contact for Career Pathways programming, opportunities, events, partnerships, and participant engagement.
The coordinator helps ensure that programs, workshops, career exposure opportunities, field trips, and partner engagements are organized, communicated, and prepared for successful implementation. While this position will support and facilitate youth programming as needed, direct facilitation is not the primary responsibility of the role. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, relationship-oriented, and passionate about creating meaningful educational and career opportunities for teens and young adults.
Program Coordination & Youth Support
- Coordinate the day-to-day logistics and administrative needs of Career Pathways programs, workshops, events, and special initiatives.
- Maintain program calendars, schedules, deadlines, and departmental planning tools in collaboration with the Associate Director of Career Pathways.
- Coordinate logistics for career exploration activities, employer visits, college visits, workshops, guest speakers, job-readiness activities, and other pathway opportunities.
- Prepare program materials, supplies, technology, spaces, and other resources needed for workshops and events.
- Coordinate transportation logistics, including buses, field trips, permission requirements, schedules, and participant communication.
- Support scheduling and coordination of vendors, presenters, volunteers, mentors, and community partners.
- Assist with participant recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and ongoing engagement in Career Pathways programming.
- Ensure programs and events are operationally prepared and communicated to appropriate staff, participants, families, and partners.
Career, College & Workforce Opportunities
- Identify and share relevant internships, employment opportunities, scholarships, college and training programs, career exploration opportunities, and community resources with participants and the Career Pathways team.
- Coordinate career-readiness opportunities such as resume workshops, mock interviews, career panels, employer visits, college exposure, and workforce development activities.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking available opportunities, application deadlines, eligibility requirements, and participant interest.
- Support participants with applications, resumes, registration, and other logistical components of accessing opportunities as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Career Pathways Case Manager when an opportunity aligns with an individual participant's goals or case plan.
- Support follow-up with participants regarding applications, interviews, registrations, and program participation.
Community & Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with schools, colleges, employers, workforce development organizations, community organizations, and other service providers.
- Serve as a consistent point of contact for logistical coordination with Career Pathways partners.
- Schedule partner meetings, workshops, site visits, and other collaborative activities.
- Attend offsite meetings and community events as needed.
- Represent Girls Inc. of Worcester at outreach, tabling, recruitment, and community events.
- Maintain organized partner contact information and support ongoing communication and follow-up.
- Communicate partner updates, opportunities, concerns, and needs to the Associate Director of Career Pathways.
Participant & Family Communication
- Communicate program schedules, opportunities, deadlines, field trips, events, and other important information to participants and families.
- Maintain professional, timely, and youth-centered communication with teens, young adults, and caregivers.
- Support participant attendance and engagement through reminders and follow-up.
- Conduct participant intakes and maintain accurate documentation aligned with organizational and funder requirements.
- Refer individual participant concerns, barriers, resource needs, or ongoing support needs to the Career Pathways Case Manager and/or Associate Director.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while building positive relationships with participants and families.
Program Support & Facilitation
- Support Career Pathways programming and youth supervision as needed to ensure appropriate coverage and successful program delivery.
- Assist with youth check-in/out, transitions, activities, and behavior guidance when supporting programming.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate workshops, activities, or group programming as assigned or when additional coverage is needed.
- Help create a safe, supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for teen and young adult participants.
- Utilize trauma-informed, youth-development, and restorative approaches when interacting with participants.
- Support local field trips, special events, career fairs, college visits, and other Career Pathways experiences.
Documentation, Data & Department Administration
- Maintain accurate attendance records, program rosters, schedules, registrations, and other program documentation.
- Support timely data entry and documentation required for organizational and funder reporting.
- Track participation in workshops, events, field trips, career opportunities, and partner activities.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical program files in accordance with organizational practices.
- Assist the Associate Director with collecting program data, participant feedback, and information needed for program evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Support preparation of reports, presentations, outreach materials, and program communications.
- Communicate concerns, barriers, missed deadlines, and operational needs to the Associate Director in a timely manner.
- Support light housekeeping and upkeep of Career Pathways programming spaces and materials.
Physical Requirements
- Walk up to one mile as needed for participant pickup, transitions, field trips, or community activities.
- Safely lift and carry up to 25 lbs. for program setup, supplies, events, and outreach activities.
- Ability to travel locally to partner sites, schools, events, and community meetings.
Other Responsibilities
- Communicating with and addressing behavior concerns with your supervisors and filling out appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate transportation logistics, including buses and field trip planning.
- Support scheduling, vendor coordination, and event logistics for career-related programming.
- Prepare materials and ensure readiness for workshops, events, and partner engagements.
During Worcester Public School Academic Year: Tuesday- Friday 10am-7:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch & Saturdays 9am-1pm. (no lunch)
During Worcester Public Schools Summer Break: Monday-Friday 10:00am-7:00 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
- At least 21 years old with a high school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, education, social work, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with youth in group or supportive service settings; experience with teens (ages 11–17) strongly preferred.
- Experience or interest in case management, youth advocacy, or referral coordination.
- Strong facilitation, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to youth development, equity, trauma-informed practice, and social justice.
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting (fingerprinting cost paid by applicant).
- Ability to travel locally to partner sites and events.
- Bilingual or multilingual applicants strongly encouraged to apply.
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt. Eligible for overtime in accordance with Massachusetts wage and hour laws.
Pay Range: $18-$23/Hour (based on experience)
