GoLocal Worcester recognizes Central MA College Standout: Clark’s Brenna Merrill.    Brenna is a Political Science major (with a minor/concentration on Urban Development and Social Change) at Clark University. A senior from Wheeling, Illinois, Merrill was one of a select number of students chosen for participation in the LEEP (Liberal Education and Effective Practice) Pioneer program.

Brenna interned with Girls Inc. of Worcester this past summer.  Brenna began her internship working in the marketing department by developing the decorations for Girls Inc.'s second annual "College Shower" and took the lead working with other interns in setting up for the event.  In the development department she input pre- and post-test data to measure the improved attributes in girls who attended Girls Inc. programs.  This data was summarized and used for final reports to grant funders.

Once Girls Inc.'s summer "Super Camp" began, Brenna had the opportunity to shadow campers and staff while working with the girls and observing the impact of the this program first hand.
