Announcement from Diane Giampa on behalf of Girls Incorporated of Worcester Board of Directors

Dear Friends of Girls Inc.,

It is with tremendous pleasure and much enthusiasm that I announce that after conducting a very extensive search, the Girls Inc. of Worcester Board of Directors voted unanimously this morning to appoint Victoria Waterman as the next CEO of the organization. Victoria was selected as the finalist for the position by a search committee that included Celia Blue, Kenneth Atchue, Tamara Nowak and myself. The committee evaluated a number of applicants and found Victoria to be the strongest candidate, thanks not only to her passion for the organization, but also her track record of entrepreneurship and strength in fund development. The board and I believe that she is absolutely the right person to build on the great strides the organization has made over the last several years. Victoria will begin working in a part-time capacity alongside current CEO, Deb Hopkins, immediately. She will take over full time on September 4th.

As a former board president, Victoria has served as a dedicated and passionate advocate for Girls Inc. and our mission to inspire girls to be strong, smart & bold. In recognition of her many accomplishments as a board leader, she was recently honored by the Girls Inc. national organization with the prestigious 2012 Excellence in Board Leadership award.

In a professional capacity, Victoria has served as the president of Leading Women Mass since 2008, an organization dedicated to helping Fortunate 500 and other companies achieve their goals for women’s advancement. With more than two decades of experience in the banking industry at institutions such as Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corporation, FEC Mortgage Corporation and Home Loan and Investment Bank, Victoria also brings business acumen and a solid background in fiscal management.

If you have not already had the pleasure of meeting Victoria, please consider joining the Girls Inc. board and staff in officially welcoming her to her new position at our summer Open House on Thursday, July 26th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at our 125 Providence Street location.

Sincerely,

Diane Giampa

President, Girls Inc. of Worcester Board of Directors
