Career Exploration Day 2011

Release Date:
Thursday, May 19, 2011

Girls Incorporated of Worcester hosted its first Career Exploration Day on Thursday, April 28 from 3:00-6:00 PM.  The afternoon started with a welcome by CEO, Deb Hopkins and an icebreaker with the girls and panelists.  After a few inter-active games the panelists were stationed at their particular industry sector where the girls were able to visit each station to ask them questions regarding their careers.

With free transportation to and from school we had 48 girls from various Worcester middle schools in attendance.  Over 35 women volunteered and attended as panelists representing industries such as education, non-profits, finance/business administration, entrepreneurs, health, hospitality/customer service, law enforcement/public safety, marketing/arts, sports/fitness, and tech sciences.

THANK YOU to all of the terrific women who have volunteered to serve as panelists, board memebers, staff, interns and GIRLS for all the positive energy you brought to this remarkable event.

If you are interested in volunteering or mentoring please contact Anne McCarthy at amccarthy@worcester.girls-inc.org or 508-755-6455 x41 to learn more!
