Girls Celebration Event 2010

Release Date:
Wednesday, March 10, 2010

For ninety-four years, Girls Incorporated of Worcester has provided a safe and enriching environment for thousands of children.  During the summer months, Girls Inc. is committed to providing inner-city youth, who cannot afford the cost of summer camp, the opportunity to attend our quality programs offered at Camp Kinneywood, our 110-acre outdoor camp located in Worcester near the Holden Reservoir, and at Winthrop House, our in-town facility located at 125 Providence Street.

To make our summer programs possible for some of the neediest children in our community, Girls Inc. will hold its 10th Annual Girls Celebration to raise funds for our Summer Camp Scholarship Fund and to honor local community leaders that truly exemplify Girls Incorporated's mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.  This year's Honoerees are Dr. Mariann Manno and Kay Bassett, reicpients of the 2010 Advocate for Girls Awards.  The 2010 Girls Celebration will be held on Thursday, May 13th, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Blais Pavilion in the Aaron Lazare Medical Research Building at UMass Medical School, 364 Plantation Street, Worcester.

Please consider purchasing an ad in the 10th Anniversary Girls Celebration Program Book.  Your message will be circulated among hundreds of families, and your investment will help us provide an alternative to a summer on the streets for many children.  There is also an opportunity to contribute silent auction items; merchandise or gift certificates.  All profits from the Girls Celebration will go directly to Girls Inc.’s Summer 2010 Camp Scholarship Fund.

Please consider one of the ad book and/or silent auction options on the form at the bottom of this page.  With your support, we will provide camp scholarships this summer for children who otherwise will not have this important experience.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Anne McCarthy at 508-755-6455 x41.  Your consideration of this request is greatly appreciated.
