WORCESTER, MA - Girls Incorporated of Worcester is honored to have Paula McCarthy, owner of Zia Grill on Shrewsbury Street, Worcester teach a monthly cooking class at Girls Inc. to the girls in the after-school program ages 8-12 years.
As part of our STRONG GIRLS program consisting of building a healthy body and promoting the importance of eating well, exercising, and building lifelong health; Paula will volunteer her time once a month with the girls to share her skills and knowledge of cooking and running a restaurant. She will teach the girls how to cook from scratch preparing homemade soups, main courses and deserts. They will be working directly from the food pyramid and using lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. Zia's Grill will generously supply the girls with all the food needed for each cooking class as well as providing all the necessary cooking utensils needed to prepare these meals.
