Girls Inc's computer Lab is getting a "Extreme Makeover - Camp Reach Edition!" Thirty young women entering seventh grade from across Central MA have been at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for Camp Reach, a two-week residential program for girls interested in pursuing a career in engineering. TEAM GIRLS INC "adopted" us and our project - to redesign our computer lab to make it more comfortable, welcoming, and an environment conducive to learning.
The girls were here last week to study the room where we have the lab now and the room where we want to relocate it! They presented three preliminary plans to Girls Inc staff yesterday and we had a great discussion, picking the best elements of all three plans for their final project. These young women of will make a final presentation, along with the other two Camp Reach teams, at WPI for faculty and parents and the community partners on Friday afternoon.
