Position Title: After-School Program Manager

Summary of Position:

Responsible for the safety and implementation of after-school programs, including supervising support staff, volunteers, including additional partnership programs. The After-School Program Manager ensures that participants have access to positive and healthy learning opportunities during after-school program hours.

Responsibilities: 

• Assist in developing and maintaining a positive, equitable, accessible, safe and supportive environment for girls, which supports individual choice and foster independence
• Assist in overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of after-school programs and activities in the areas of comprehensive youth development, prevention programming including recreational needs and cultural enrichment
• Plan, supervise, and implement developmentally appropriate activities for the after-school programs, Youth Connect, and Friday Nights at Camp that follow and provide choices and opportunities for participants including but not limited to art, fitness, nutrition, and STEM based on the mission of Girls Inc. and needs of participants
• Prepare daily after-school program materials and spaces
• Assist in supervision and informal training of after-school support staff, Youth Connect staff, and volunteers during program hours, including delegation of tasks
• Communicate with and address any behavior concerns as well as parent/guardian concerns and questions promptly and appropriately
• Maintain accurate up to date records for attendance, daily program participation/check lists, child Incident Report documents, and parent communication
• Organizational and interpersonal skills are required to work with youth, staff, and volunteers
• Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule: 

This is a full time, exempt position. There will be space for this position in the offices of Girls Inc. at 125 Providence St. Worcester, MA 01604. School Year schedule: September through June 9AM- 5:30PM Summer hours are: Vary and may include evenings. *Holiday and school closings may require more time as outlined by the approved Worcester Public Schools calendar

Qualifications: 

• At least eighteen (18) years of age
• Valid State-Issued I.D.
• High School graduate, General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
• Ability to be certified in CPR and First Aid
• Associate degree, with courses in education, recreation, psychology, or related field; or 2-4 years of experience working with youth preferred
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing youth programs
• Organizational skills with attention to detail and maintaining accurate records
• Mature, responsible, organized, with strong time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to problem. solve and make improvements

Salary and Application Information:
