Goddard Girls

August 3, 2010 - 3:24pm -- leadacademy

So far the week at Goddard girls is pretty fun.Today we took a bus to Cambridge to talk about space. The bus ride took about 40 mins. When we got there a scientist named Brad gave us a tour of his lab. We saw a contraption called a Centrifuge. This peice of technology is for astronaunts up in space. This helpes the astronauts get as much calcium as their bones need, because in space there is no pressure so their bones lose alot of calcium and thay are of no use when the astronauts get to the space station , moon or any other place there going. the Centrifuge spins in a circle around and around. Once you have spun for a while you feel like your standing up. Then we went into another lab where we saw Maria T., She is the only working robot that tests pressure in the world. We also saw the scientists new space suite idea, like a scuba diving suite . It would be much more easy to move your mussels. Then we ate lunch at subway. The food there was so good and we got to relax a while. Afterwards we headed back to the lab for a simulation moon walk. Only about twelve people got to do it and i was one of them. Then it was time to go, I was sad to leave but the day was exasting and i was looking foward to haveing a little nap on the way home. Overall today was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
