How can my child connect to Girls Inc. of Worcester during COVID-19?

Cherry blossom

A beautiful flowering tree of Japan, typically blossoms in the spring time. 

What you’ll need:

  • Paper
  • Paint (preferably brown and pink)
  • Paint brush

Dinosaur fossil

A fossil is the preserved remains of an ancient organism.  This can include a dinosaur, a leaf, flower, shells or bones.  Paleontologists are people who study fossils

  • Play dough
  • Mini Dinosaur
  •  Or if you don’t have a mini dino at home you can fossilize anything from a leaf or a stick you can find outside or a flower!

Tie Dye!

At home tie dye! All you need to do is take your shirt (or whatever you decide to dye) soak it in vinegar for about an hour, wrap your bands around it to create a fun pattern.  Soak your shirt in the desired colors, let it dry and you have yourself a new shirt! Before you wear it you’ll need to rinse the shirt out to make sure the dye

  • A white shirt or socks you want to dye
  • Food coloring
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Rubber bands
  • Gloves (so your hands don’t get messy)

Lava Lamps

Easy at home activity with materials you can find at home!

What you’ll need:

  • Food coloring
  • Oil
  • Water
  • Baking soda
  • Water bottle

Pour about 2 tablespoons of baking soda at the bottom of your bottle

Fill the bottle most of the way with vegetable oil.

Fill the rest up with water

Add a few drops of food coloring; your choice of color. ...

Watch your lava lamp erupt into activity!
