Last week was a really great week here at Girls Inc of Worcester. 

On Monday, I went to the Statehouse in Boston with Sandy Mayrand from UMass' Regional Science Resource Center for the announcement of the Summer of Innovation grants from NASA.  We are partnered with UMass for 2 great weeks of STEM programming in late July and early August. Girls Inc's computer Lab is getting a "Extreme Makeover - Camp Reach Edition!"  Thirty young women entering seventh grade from across Central MA have been at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for Camp Reach, a two-week residential program for girls interested in pursuing a career in engineering. TEAM GIRLS INC "adopted" us and our project - to redesign our computer lab to make it more comfortable, welcoming, and an environment conducive to learning.  Read more »
