Brie Tangney

Manager - Civic Engagement, Corporate Citizenship​, Blue Cross Blue Shield

Brie has fond memories of learning to swim (particularly of treading water) in the (then Girls Club) pool. Born and raised in Worcester, Brie spent 10+ years working in the nonprofit sector and higher education in Philadelphia before returning to Central MA in 2014. She is currently a member of the Corporate Citizenship team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where she oversees various community initiatives, including the company’s statewide day of service. 

In addition to her service on the Girls Inc. board, and as co-chair of the Alumni Committee, she currently serves on the steering committee for the Greater Boston Corporate Volunteer Council. In her spare time, she loves reading, live music, and is an obsessive puppy-parent to her four-year old lab mix, Eddie.

Nicole Estaphan

Reporter, WCVB-TV Boston

A proud Girls Inc. alumna, Nicole credits the programs she participated in as a child for helping her to overcome fear and encouraging the power of hard work and passion.

With a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a master’s degree in Journalism, Nicole has lived out her passion for the last fifteen years as a news reporter. She has reported on major stories ranging from the Newtown school shooting to the Boston Marathon Bombing. Among her career highlights, Nicole spent a month onboard a research ship for a NASA funded project called The North Atlantic Aerosols and Marine Ecosystems Study.  She became the first journalist ever embedded with a NASA mission at sea. She also conducted the last televised interview with poet Maya Angelou and contributed to On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.  In her spare time, she enjoys all things ocean, pottery, yoga and filling her passport

Elaine Osgood

CEO -  Atlas Travel & Technology Group

Through hard work and dedication, Elaine has made a name for herself in the travel industry, receiving recognition such as Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in New England. She has also been distinguished as a Top Business Builder in North America by Fast Company magazine, one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel Agent magazine, and a member of the prestigious inaugural Inc. 5000 by Inc. magazine.

Elaine currently sits on the advisory board for BCD Travel, is a Corporator of Milford Regional Medical Center, and a member of our Board of Directors.

Shelly Yarnie, MPH

Director of Local Public Health Initiatives, DPH

As the Director of Local Public Health Initiatives, Shelly provides statewide leadership and direction to local health departments interested in applying for accreditation, forming public health districts and shared service agreements, improving health equity and strengthening workforce development. Shelly also leads the Office of Minority Health (OMH) Oral Health Equity Initiative at the MDPH, which focuses on children up to age 14 in Worcester and Holyoke, two cities with disparities in oral health outcomes and large proportions of racial and ethnic minority residents. She also serves as faculty at UMass Medical School in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.

Shelly is very passionate about Public Health and strongly believes where you live, eat, work and play impacts your overall health. She is a staunch advocate on creating and delivering quality health programs to reduce health disparities and achieve health equity for vulnerable populations.
